Sarah Trenfield, a UCL PhD Researcher working in Professor Abdul Basit's research group, has been nominated for the TechWomen 100 Award by WeAreWomenTech. This award recognises and celebrates the achievements of the Top 100 Women in the technology field.

Sarah's research at UCL is focussed on developing 3D printing technology for the production of personalised medicines at the point-of-care, such as in hospital and community pharmacies. In particular, Sarah has been working to develop a real-time quality control method to ensure medicine safety and efficacy at the point of dispensing. Critically, this research will overcome a major barrier to clinical integration of 3D printing technology, enabling greater access of personalised medicines to patients around the world.

Sarah's project is being conducted in collaboration with Pfizer and has been fully funded by the EPSRC on the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicine.
