A few weeks ago, we had the honour of hosting Dr J. D. Polk, NASA’s Chief Health and Medical Officer, and Dr Neal Zapp, Manager of NASA’s Health and Medical Technical Authority, at our lab at the UCL School of Pharmacy.

Their visit provided an exciting opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge innovations in pharmaceutical 3D printing, particularly how these developments can be applied in space medicine for long-duration and hard-to-reach manned missions. As humanity prepares for future expeditions to the Moon and Mars, 3D printing is set to revolutionise pharmaceutical manufacturing, enabling personalised, portable, and on-demand medicine production.

A special thanks to Dr Polk for his inspiring talk on NASA’s upcoming human missions, highlighting the health challenges faced by astronauts and the latest advancements in space medicine.

We are excited to contribute to this frontier and grateful for the insightful discussions. Stay tuned for more on BRG’s role in shaping the future of space medicine!
